Six days in and around the surrounding area of Alba, in the quaint village of Cortemilia, the undisputed capital of one of the world's best varieties of hazelnuts, awarded I.G.P. (Protected Geographical Indication) status.

This gastronomic inclusive itinerary includes three, hands-on, four-course cooking classes, focused on authentic regional Piedmont seasonal specialties. The classes taught by Chef Carlo individually guiding you through a 4-course menu, as well as wine matching and recipes.

All lunches, dinners with wine pairing, and an agriturismo six-course dinner are included.

Personalized vineyard visits, are included with guided degustazione tastings at one of Piedmonts finest Barolo cantina' Fontanafredda D.O.C. The Fontanafredda estate is a major leader in Piedmont, producing the massive quantities of Barolo d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba and other Piedmontese DOCs. Also included are samplings of savory cured salami, sausages, and cheeses of the area.

In the heart of the Barolo, wine district, a visit to the Torronificio candy factory to discover the Piemontese nougat. A visit to the laboratory is mandatory for a tasting to learn all about the typical nougat and torrone production.

In the town of Alba and a visit to the Tartufo (Truffle) Fair, is where tartufo hunters and merchants come and sell their products at Alba's Tartufo Market. The Tartufo Bianco di Alba the white truffle (Tuber Magnatum Pico) in the province of Asti is the finest in Italy. A whiff, a meeting with the "tartufaio" (truffle hunter) and his dog, completes this incredible experience.

A "Place to Taste" EATALY, the gigantic indoor market in Turin (Torino), from the renovation of an old Carpano vermouth factory, houses EATALY. With the approval of Slow Food, you will find high quality foods featuring small-scale locally produced artisanal foods and beverages, a fish market, bakery, vegetable and fruit market, and fresh pasta shop. It houses a wine bar, wine store, indoor beergarten, food-related kitchenware and bookstore, cooking school, sit-down more formal restaurant, and casual restaurants.

The tour is priced at: $3,600 per person – package prices based on double accommodation - $200 single room supplement, airfare not included.
